My nursery is my favorite room in my house. From the moment I found out I was pregnant, I began dreaming up the most incredible nursery. Or course, not knowing what I was having at that time, just gave me the opportunity to dream up two different nurseries, for each gender!
I knew that regardless of the baby's gender, I wanted shelves to place picture frames and little baby treasures on. I wanted these shelves to be simple, yet such a focal point, and I wanted them to be affordable. Lucky for me, my husband, J, is wired to never turn down a challenge. So I dreamed up the perfect shelves for the space and J went to home depot for supplies.
I am totally loving dark stain, and felt that dark stained shelves would really tie the whole room together.
After we applied 3 coats of stain, we used a clear coat to give them a glossy finish. We love the look of two simple shelves directly in line with each other.
To hang them, J just used 3 screws in the back board and into the wall.
